I am in my late 20s and my mom still had to hold my hand with applying for a bank loan under my name.

There is no manual on how to be an adult.

We were never formally taught how to do taxes, how to apply for loans, how to behave and answer questions in interviews, how to write attractive resumes, how to write formal letters like letters of interest, letter of authorization, how to function at work, management skills, how to budget your salary, how to manage bills, how to do groceries, how to get insurance, etc. All these, I either had to learn from my HR mom, or Google.

And anyone of age can testify to this, having to do adult things is terrifying. It is terrifying because you start to doubt: Can I actually do this? Can I actually pay for this? Is this person taking advantage of me? Is this system taking advantage of me? Is this the only option? Is this how you answer it? Did I say the right things? Am I missing anything? Do I look stupid?

But let me tell you something I heard online that is 100% true: just do it scared. You accomplish nothing with just worrying. Just. Do. Everything. Scared. The important part is, you do or did it.

Allow yourself to ask the more experienced adults, allow yourself to do things scared and to look stupid, and allow yourself to find confidence in learning and making mistakes like a normal human being.
