As an overthinker…

If you’re an organized, creative over-thinker like me, Product Design is the perfect career for you. My job basically revolves around looking for pathways or user flows to painlessly bring users to an end action or goal.

For example, it’s my job to think, and overthink, the complexities of the simple action of adding an item to a cart e.g. What happens if someone added the wrong size or type? What happens if they want to remove the said item, or multiple items? What happens if they’re ready to check out only some things in the cart, not all? And so on.

We overthink scenarios that seem simple to other people, work with developers or programmers while answering questions like “Where do we store those items? How do we make sure those items are synced to their accounts, and not devices, in case they change phones? How do we maintain their privacy?”, and then shrink those actually-complex scenarios into experiences that are easy to digest for users, making softwares or apps user friendly and intuitive.

Law and medicine are great, but the world is evolving and more fields are blooming. Consider the tech industry! And no, it’s never too late to pivot.
