Some of the 2023 chaos

A week ago my sister got into an accident. Her car was hit on the driver’s side fender; impact was strong enough that it misaligned the wheel. Imagine: a few inches more and it would have been a direct hit to the driver, her. She’s safe and uninjured.

Yesterday, my mom called, telling me she needed an appendectomy. Thankfully, she managed to drive herself to the ER. Imagine: if she ignored the pain and didn’t go to the ER. The operation was a success.

Being apart from your family is not easy. There’s not a minute that your heart stops worrying, and overthinking. Though I don’t believe in the Catholic god, I’d like to believe that there’s someone or something that prevented the car to move a few inches further, and prevented the appendix to rupture.

So, with or without a deity, wherever you are or whichever you choose to believe in, I’d like to talk to the gods and pray for you, as well. I hope you do the same for others, too.

Coincidence or not, close calls are something to be thankful for— and thank the gods and the universe for it.
