✨ What working on myself looks like, in case it helps you too ✨

  1. Walk on walk pad 150 min a day, 6 days a week: 50 min x 2 at brisk walking speed (~5.5km/hr) so I can work at the same time (no time wasted); the rest either keep walking for another 50 min, or jog fastest and longest I can.
  2. Install fitness apps: Most apps will ask you what you want to focus on (for me, it’s core) and will provide a routine.
  3. Skin care (Use rollers!) : I used to pick at anything on my face, and it caused me to flare out. CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser + Cetaphil Gentle Clear Acne Moisturizer With Salicylic Acid + Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 = My saviours. Use rollers or applicators! It lets me apply product without touching my face.
  4. At least 2 work nights or 1 weekend day is for learning: I’m doing my Masters and we have homework every week. I allot nonnegotiable time for it. I also have ASL udemy courses that keep me occupied while walking. I have audio readers to help me take in readings faster too.
  5. Sunday afternoon is meal prep afternoon: I cook (10 dinners, 3 lunches, for 2 people) to lessen overall cooking time per week. We eat out on the weekends.
  6. Never miss out on food: I swore I wouldn’t deprive myself of food just to count calories. I still eat sweets, I still eat rice, I still eat what I want – all just in moderation. Ate pork yesterday? Wait a couple of days before eating it again.
  7. Try to keep the body moving: Working from home made my butt flat af. Now trying to juggle 2 types of dance classes, allotting 2-3 nights per class per week, just for mobility.
  8. Do or go to at least 2 big events for the year—for yourself, not for anyone else: For me, it’s traveling. Already booked for 1 trip to see a live orchestra in BC, and soon to book 2 more big trips. But this can also be in the form of big music festivals, solo vacations, or maybe hosting grand birthday parties to celebrate you.
  9. Do sensual things: Do your research. Enjoy your bodies. So many things you can do. Sensual isn’t always sexual!
  10. For long weekends, do stuff that relaxes you: Naps, Legos and puzzles are for me. But similar to 9, very many options to choose from.

Take it one step at a time, everything else follows.
