In a team of 8 strategists and designers, we were tasked to create a digital strategy that would help The Sean Ward show grow and strengthen their #TeamSuperFunny digital initiative.

The Sean Ward Show is famous for their YouTube channel (with 4.5 million subscribers) where they make skits and parodies based on comic books and movies such as the Marvel series.

TeamSuperFunny finds that it is lacking a cohesive brand identity and a strong self-representation to its audience. On YouTube, Sean Ward Show videos are poorly differentiated from those of other superhero parody channels. Although the show is well-viewed, many of the viewers don’t know what #TeamSuperFunny is or who its members are.

The team’s web presence and social media are not being used to their full potential to engage with the audience, promote new content and capitalize on current media releases in the superhero genre.

This project aimed to develop a digital strategy and website redesign for #TeamSuperFunny. A successful strategy will allow #TeamSuperFunny to take control of its image, increase audience familiarity with the members of the team, improve its website, reach current and potential audience members via social media, and streamline the merchandise experience.

Due to the dense workload, we divided the work phases into three main blocks:

  1. Current State Analysis. In conducting a thorough Current State Analysis, we delved into the client’s digital landscape and audience demographics. Our research aimed to uncover user preferences, locations, and behaviors, culminating in the presentation of a comprehensive deck featuring three User Personas, a competitive and trend analysis, and an in-depth review of digital properties such as YouTube, Facebook, and a website audit.
  2. Mock ups & Proposals. In our comprehensive analysis of the client’s current state and user experience, we pinpointed the essential components for advancing the #TeamSuperFunny initiative. Our deliverables include a style tile, writing style guide, wireframes, channel expansion proposal, website revamp mockup, content strategy proposal, and a digital strategy proposal, ensuring a well-rounded approach to propel the initiative forward.
  3. Digital Strategy Proposal. Our team successfully analyzed the strengths and challenges of the initiative, culminating in a comprehensive proposal deck. Leveraging my expertise in digital marketing, I assumed the role of Social Media Consultant. My responsibilities included crafting User Personas and conducting a thorough analysis of their digital presence in 2019, leading to strategic recommendations for enhancing their website and social media platforms.
