About the Study
Invisible disabilities, often unseen but impactful, affect students’ academic performance and overall well-being in post-secondary education. Our interdisciplinary team, from the University of Waterloo’s Master of Digital Experience Innovation (MDEI) program, is dedicated to exploring these challenges.
We examined stigma, support services, financial considerations, physical infrastructure, administrative processes, mental health support, technology integration, curriculum design and data collection in our research. We aim to raise awareness and improve support systems for students with invisible disabilities, ensuring they have equal opportunities to thrive in their educational endeavors.

Our multidisciplinary experience equipped us with a skill set to delve into the intricacies of mapping the systems surrounding invisible disabilities among post-secondary students.
My role was to create and design the systems map on Kumu.io, provide presentation feedback and coaching, and as well as finalize the for the presentation and documentation design.
